Catch with Boxes!

Hi. Are you enjoying favidle? Now number of my faves goes over 200. Thank you coping us!

Growing number of faves, the layout of album page get bit small. So we refine it to show photos with grid, and introdude lightbox to show the full-size image. Please check it.

Did you notice yellow border on the square photos? That means they are first favored by you. We call it 'catch' to distinguish it from following favoring. Catching new faves is primary purpose of our site, and encouraged with celebrating when you did it. We remark that the yellow border is a honor of fave catchers.

Too slow, too hot, to stay...

Thank you for playing favidle! It's a happy suprise that many people tried/is trying our serivce. First, about atom feed. It was broken, and now seems to be fixed. Please retry it if you failed to subscribe it before. Now it works fo me. (Yes, every programmer always say so....) OT: I coded the feed at the morning before we go office, It took just 1 hours, and it just not work... Lesseon learned: we shouldn't code before coffe.

Next, about performance. We've realized that page load becomes slowing down. Sorry for our poor code that may cause a problem. We are working hard to investigate the problem (after working for my job, ah, hard, of course;-) But it may take a time to solve it. Please keep touch us here.

Finally, about "too hot girls here", or NSFW problem. Today I played favidle at office (of course at the break) and caught a hot girl. But she is, oops, too hot for office hours. I don't want to be threatened my job by the service of ourselves. So we decide to deal with it. but don't have certain idea now.

Surprisingly, our collection is already filtered by flickr!. Flickr database already have large amount of porn-like photos. But hide it by default. If you have an flickr account, let's try search hot word like "hot girl nude" with "SafeSearch off". You'll see definitely NSFW images there. So again, "safe is not enough". How do we deal with this? One idea is that, yes, can you help us?

Any Commends are welcome.

Are you biased?

Hello, are you enjoy favidle? Thankfully, my friends also tried it and give us some feedbacks. It's very helpful.

One of their complaint is that there is too few cuties. Ooops, it's a top-secret-of-human-kind! - And it is a driving force behind us. But actually there is too-too-few cuties and it somewhat discouraged us to play.

Another reason of it is that favidle have imported photos tagged only with sex-distinguished word like "woman" and "girl". But flickr also has aesthetic words like "beautiful" and "pretty". So we change the importer to use such additional words, which we call "biasing".

Can you see the difference? If you can, you are biased. Or you have aesthetic sense, as we expect ;-)

Speed-up!

We've updated our UI on favidle.net so we are now able to see more photos with less time. My feeling is x10 speedup. Ah... It's over-emphasized, as you know ;-)

Plus one point: Some keyboard-shortcuts are available. We hope that you can easily guess the key assignments. Just try it! And thank you for playing favidle.net.

I am sorry...

Yesterday, I decided that we should switch database engine because its poor performance. (You saw many errors? Yes, that is the problem.)

And during miguration, I, amen, broke the databases! everythins is lost, your account, favidles, etc...

Fortunately for many people, there are a few users registered. But I apologize you, my friend, for the mistake.

I need backup. I need to lean database administration. I know. I will.

Getting Started!

Hello, this is Omo. A developer working on favidle.net.

I've started to write code for favidle at the end of last year. At the office, I have Yahoo! Widgets on my desktop. It contains slide-show widget on flickr. At first it seems interesting. But I become tired soon. Why? I wondered. Then I found myself having little interest on photo-taking. I just like fine landscapes, and off course, cute women. Flickr is a community for camera-lovers. I'm a stranger there.

So I decided to make a photo site for people like me, a humble man who has no camera, and went back home throwing work left and start coding, ends up here, favidle.net.

With favidle.net, all cutes are for us. I have many plans in my brain to make things fun. You'd ah... stay tuned;-)
